Heartland Music Festival 2009 in Elizabethtown Kentucky

I was hanging out on my Facebook Friday night minding my own business when my buddy Gary Fights announces there is a show he is doing on Saturday. I have been dying to see his band Junell street live so I ask the usual questions...WHERE?? Well the Heartland Festival in Elizabethtown of course! Gary and his band are part of the Heartland Songwriters Association.

We got there right for Junell Street's last song. I really wanted to see the whole set but it just didnt happen. The next band to come on was Izzy and the Creepers. I was hooked from the first song! They are a psychobilly band and I havent heard much psychobilly but I know I sure do like it. These guys rock! I wish I could have got a picture...I wish I could have MET THEM!

I got caught up in taking pictures of Maylee and Tyler...and then I went down to the craft fair part of the festival...that was not a good thing to do when I am broke!

But then, I ran into someone I know from other shows I have done. Liz, who has a charity in honor of her son Joshua,
Joshua's Friends. As a parent of a disabled child myself, I totally love what Liz is doing. I have tasted her fudge that she sells in her Etsy shop, and I can attest it is GOOOOD! I love Liz, she is a sweet sweet woman, and I wish her charity the very best. I love her idea of building a house for the families of disabled children to come and just relax is an awesome idea. In my opinion if you have a high needs child, your so tired at the end of the day you dont have the energy to relax, but if you took a little "vacation" to this cool new house they are raising money for, the entire family could have fun and everyones needs would be met, even the mama's. Love ya Liz, and I love what your doing!

I seen the most amazing crafts, and I wish that the artists I talked to had some websites I would totally post them here, but a lot of these artisans seem to focus more on the art rather than promoting themselves, we all need promoters! Then we can take time to do what we do best, make art!

After I tortured myself with beautiful things I could never purchase and enjoyed a great and uplifting conversation with Liz, we went to see the U.S. Army flex its muscle for the festival goers. Tyler and Maylee had plans...BIG plans!

We found a hummer. It was pretty cool to look at but Tyler and Maylee had a plan...Maylee flashed the army guys to stun them while Tyler made his way into the Hummer to hot wire it and steal it!

As Tyler drives off screaming,"You'll never take me alive!" He points his finger gun at the crowd...they quickly back down...as they should. You dont mess with the finger gun!

Eventually Tyler gets tired of pointing his finger gun at people and driving thru roadblocks...so he comes back to the festival, and plans his next conquest...tha TANK!

ROFLMAO! You know I cant take a series of pictures of the kids without making up some kind of silly story to go with them! LOL

We had fun at the festival, and I think I may try to vend my soap in next years! We will see! The booth fee is reasonable enough for the amount of people coming thru, and I could see that some people were selling. The candlemakers booth looked pretty slim, and the lady making the cute tutu's and bows for little girls looked like she was running low too. I hope everyone done well yesterday, I know I seen a ton of beautiful things and if I had 1,000 bucks I would have spent it within 15 minutes of being there! LOL

Sucking up to my mom again...

Mom don't read my blog so I am totally safe posting her surprise here LOL. I am almost ALWAYS looking for a way to suck up/kiss butt/be the favorite. I usually prevail, and this time its a sure thing my sister and brother cannot top this one. They just cant do it! I dare both of them to try to outdo me! (evil laugh)

I seen this shop one morning when I was listing my own items on Artfire. This gorgeous Pink rose ring was on the Front page and I fell in love..and clicked!

I was taken to a shop called Flower Rings By Kia.The pink ring was the only one in her shop at the time...but as the day wore on she posted the red beauty at the top. And I KNEW I had to have these!

Moms Middle name is Rose, and she has a thing for the color red, and she happens to like roses....This is a huge score as far as brownie points!

The beading on these rings is incredible as well. I just LOVE the way she puts these together with the flower, the beads that resemble leaves, and the ring band is beaded too! These rings feel like they are top quality for sure..as most handmade goods are! I don't want to take these off! I highly recommend this seller, as she was very super duper kind to me and her goods are top notch not to mention stunningly gorgeous.

So if you got a minute check out her beaded flower rings shop! She is just starting out on Artfire and will appreciate the love!

I cannot wait to see the look on moms face when I give this to her. Normally I send presents by way of mail, but this isn't just any old present. I wanna be there for this one!

Saturday Happy: Good friends

I got some great friends, guys. I do. I am so blessed its just crazy! I was feeling bad today. Like REAL bad. Things aren't going real great for me today, and I just felt super tired on top of it. I went to bed, and I woke up 4 hours later to the sound of a ripping box. Tyler was sitting next to me on the bed and he shoves an open box under my nose. I cant see real well when I wake up but I could definitely see the bright colors inside the box. I sit up and start going thru it and I find the two awesome bracelets Maylee helped me model at the top, and the awesome earrings too!

There was also the awesomest rainbow knitted scarf I have ever laid eyes on. How Elicia knew I had been dying for a rainbow scarf for at least 8 months now I have no idea...she is psychic I am sure of it! I want to give a huge thanks to you Elicia, you made me feel SOOO much better today. I feel loved!

The cool headband I am wearing was also a gift not too long ago from my secret twin Kelli of Kellibeans fame. She sent Maylee the cutest little bean with wings...I need to get a picture of him, he is adorable. Kelli makes some adorable stuffies check her out!

I am always getting a lot of love from my good friends online. I don't have pictures of everything but the shops I am about to list give you a good idea of the quality of love I have got recently.

Papillion Jewelry Sent me these awesome crocheted earrings for my birthday. She was SO sweet to do that! They are VERY comfortable to wear, and I just sit and look at them wondering how tiny her hands must be to crochet those itty bitty stitches on them! THANK YOU! I enjoyed the cool packaging too! They were wrapped in a map of Vietnam. That made me feel like I was getting such a treasure from an exotic country. I very much enjoyed the effect. You are so kind to send something so nice to a stranger. I wish I could hug you!

CreativeEyeStudio Kim is my best buddy. She helps me run the Street Team, and she busts her butt for us every day. She is as passionate about global domination as I am, and I love her for it. She recently sent me these awesome GLOW IN THE DARK hippie bus earrings. These have real sterling silver wires guys, this is NICE stuff! Thanks so much Kim! BIG HUGZ and many blessings to you!

ChristinasHandmades Christina is a great hippie mama friend. She makes some really awesome natural gemstone jewelry .I have known her for ages online and recently I was so blessed to meet her in person. She brought me bunches of cool gifts, one of which was the AWESOME handmade visor I am wearing in this picture. I LOVE THIS THING! I wear it a LOT and I cant go nowhere in it without someone complimenting me. Thanks Christina! You rock!

There are so many more people I need to thank from over the years of sending me goodies. I wish I could hug each and every one of you for being so kind to me. I always try to send out the positive energy back into the universe by doing plenty of my own RAOK's I do enjoy keeping the love going around and around. I love seeing it come to be and I love sending it back out. Love is a beautiful thing, and I love all my great friends online you guys are another happy in my life.

LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!

Happy week Friday BIG happy

I didnt plan on being able to post again today but it seems life is slowing down and getting calm...this makes me VERY happy! For today my happy is this:

My Tyler. No he isnt drinking a beer but it sure looks like it huh? They put root beer in interesting bottles LOL My Tyler started himself up yet ANOTHER business last night cutting grass...he has been talking about it for a while and last night he printed out his flyers he made and he hit the streets with his lawn mower going door to door.

Tyler was gone about an hour or two and he come home with a 20 dollar bill in his pocket. I am proud! He has been wanting a cell phone, and I kept telling him no cause its an expense we dont need, and a cell phone to us is pretty useless anyways. But he made the money to pay for every penny of a cheapo pre paid cell phone so he went over to Staples and picked one up. I cant tell him no on that one, its his money!

I knew when he left the house with the lawn mower he would come home loaded. And to make it better he has yards lined up for the weekend so he will be making even more money! I am gonna make him save it for a 4 wheeler cause thats what he REALLY wants bad.

Tyler makes me happy. He can be the best son a mom ever wanted. He helped me when I was pregnant with Maylee, he pushed my wheelchair when we went shopping (he liked trying to scare me so I would go into labor and have her) He even helped when she was born. He held her and helped out while Noor was helping me. Tyler would ALWAYS bag the groceries when we went to the grocery store, and he would put them in the car and carry them in the house. I never had to touch anything at the grocery store. He did it ALL and I never had to ask him to do it. He just knew I needed help and he did it.

This is my other happy for today:

My Justin. This picture is so cool. He likes it too. Justin is now 16! His birthday is 2 days before mine. he was due on my birthday but the doctor induced labor so here he is 16 years later. Justin is quite the flirt and has been peeking over my shoulder while I am on facebook at my friends. All my friends are women, so of course Justin is all over it. He seems to love my friend Elicia a lot. He says she is hot, and he wants to meet her husband...probably to beat him down so he can take his woman. Justin is cute.

Justin has cerebral palsy, he was diagnosed when he was about 3 or 4. He functions very well and I have been told that he can most likely live a pretty normal life and have kids and stuff...I almost fell out of my chair thinking about my Justin having kids...maybe when he is 50 or something...not anytime soon!

Some of my greatest life lessons are from Justin. He has such a kind loving heart and is so giving and so free with the hugz when we go out places. Everyone loves him cause he is so good and so kind. Its easy to see the love in his heart. He has been a huge blessing to me. I sometimes feel bad because he has a disability and feel like he got "cheated" out of so much, but then again I see where his life path is a special one. He has been a shining example of pure innocent love for me to go by all these years, and he has brought so much into my life and the lives of everyone he meets, I feel like his soul is very strong to pick a life path such as this one to follow. I am proud he is my son.

My children are my biggest happy. ALL of them, not just that sweet baby. There are such great and wonderful things about all my babies, and each one of them is different in their own way, and I love each of them for who they are and the adults they will become.

Tyler looks like he will be my crafty business man, Maylee my little helper baby, my sweet baby who looks like she may be crafty too, and my Justin, who teaches me the lessons of the soul with his heart of gold. I am a blessed mama. And I am happy!
