Random Post

I dont get to update my blog like i would like to do, I have been so busy lately with other things my poor blog gets pushed to the back a lot. Here is what has been up with us lately

Larry got just over 5,000 bucks from the 48 for Larry event, and a local organization has stepped in to pay for the rest of what he needs for his surgery. Larry will be just fine now! YAY! I pray he gets thru the surgery OK and he lives a long healthy life to see his grandkids someday. If I hear anything more I will keep you updated. Thanks so much to my street team members who helped out. You made me proud! Thanks also to everyone else who bid or donated items, we came together out of love for this man and made something beautiful happen. I am proud I could be a part of it.

My street team got a grant from Etsy, yeah they gave US a grant WOW! We got it for advertising, my right hand woman, Kim is on top of it due to me being so busy with other things at the moment. I have NO idea what I would do without her!

My steet team is gonna be opening up a team shop very soon, I am hoping we can get some team logo shirts made up as soon as we can get a logo made to be silkscreened or digitized to an embroidery design. Big plans here! All the money from the team shop will go toward team expenses like a meeting in the bahamas...how I WISH! LOL We want to do tons of advertising. The team has the potential to do big stuff here. I am excited. Thanks a million times over to Sara who is gonna be running the team shop. She is invaluable! She also has a cool shop with bunches of Reusable Coffee Sleeves She has a HUGE job in the team and that is taking care of the members and all that is involved with that. Sara, you rock!

I have a wholesaler buying from me who is local now, so I will be making soap and perfumes in mass. YAY! I have another lined up for August, we will see how that works out.

I have been taking a lot of customs lately for clothing and have been busy busy taking care of those, I have made some really awesome pieces lately. I have had lots of fun projects and I thank you guys for letting me make your clothing dreams a reality!

My job over at HMN is going great, I have a couple of features coming up over there, and I really enjoy writing a lot. I am proud to be on the ground floor of such a great source of information. HMN has some changes coming up soon to the design and look, so keep checking back often. Bookmark us and check out all the Departments, there is something for everyone whether your looking for Fun Stuff to do or your wanting to market your business better, we got ya covered! My profile has listings of all the articles I have wrote on Marketing. I been at this for quite a while and picked up some things along the way and I enjoy being able to pass the info along to businesses starting out.

Her shirt was a gift from the super talented FacesAreFunny who does AMAZING silkscreen work. Thanks again Robin, Maylee loves her shirt!

48 For Larry update 2

48 for Larry is in its last day today. As of this writing These are the money stats

Goal is $20000.00
Cash Donations..........$ 814.00
Auction Bids...............$ 3271.16
Total...........................$ 4085.16

814 bucks in cash donations! WOW! Thanks so much to everyone who bid in the auction or that donated money. If you wish to donate to this great cause to save a friend's life I am sure they will keep the donate button up past the auction which ends at 6 PM today (sunday) Even 5 bucks can help. If everyone reading this would donate 5 bucks, those 5 bucks add up and make HUNDREDS of bucks.

5 bucks is a crappy lunch at McDonald, a cup of ulcer at Starbucks, some cheap something that you really didnt need anyway at a big name store. I know there are a lot of people in the same boat I am that dont even have that much. But if you do have enough right now to cover your basic needs with some left over please consider Larry. 5 bucks really does make a difference.

Thanks so much to everyone who has read my blog thru this whole 48 for Larry campaign and thanks to all who donated money or an item to the silent auction. Bless you all for helping everyones friend, Larry
Love you Larry!!!!

Another 48 for Larry update

I am really into this cause, guys. Cant ya tell. When I get passionate about something I don't quit till the job is done...so here is some more links for ya and some updates.

Blockhead Rod posted a blog today giving a link to the Governor of the state of North Carolina where Larry lives.

Larry had his medicaid rejected right after he found out he needed his surgery to save his life...imagine how scary that must feel....seriously. You have a doctor telling you that you will die within 18 months if you dont have a gastric bypass and then your state decides that because your rolling in the dough with your big ol 380 a week paycheck that you cant have your medicaid any more...Hmmm...And the 380 is supposed to take care of 3 people now?? I dont see them as being rich, sorry State of North Carolina. Fail.

SO what can you do?? Email the fine Governor! Give her a nice and polite piece of your mind. Maybe if we swamp the fine Governor with emails she will get involved and possibly Larry could get his medicaid back. Just think of the $2,000 dollar a month bill for his meds? Golly Gee! And he HAS to have his meds, there is no option. he is Diabetic. He has to have it...but wait! His wife's big fat 380 dollar a week check can pay it! Yep, when pigs fly backwards and hell freezes over my friends!

Please note there is a donation button on the BHR site if anyone has a spare buck or two they can part with, this is for a wonderful cause. With something like this every dollar counts. Just think if this post was seen by 100 people and those 100 people sent 5 bucks to Larry...that adds up!

I have made a special section in my artfire shop JUST for the 48forlarry charity. If you buy ANYTHING in that section I will donate all the money minus shipping and paypal fees to Larry. I seen a couple others doing this and thought I would be a copycat and jump on the bandwagon, Hey its for a great cause!

And dont forget about the quilt being raffled off!

I am not the kind of person who gives to big name charities, I dont trust em.Red Cross and the like can just go on somewhere, I dont want to give money to something like that where I have NO idea where the money really goes and I seriously doubt it helps anyone.... However a cause like this, I would give my last dime. I know Larry is a for real guy with a for real problem. He is a brother crafter, and a fellow human. For that I love him. I wanna help, and I hope this post is seen by others of like mind. LOVE YOU LARRY!!!!!!!!!!
