My busy day yesterday

I started off the day by getting up at 6 AM cause Maylee likes to get up at that time now...I got busy sewing on a custom I ended up finishing that night. Check this out, is this the most awesome skirt ever or what!

This was made from some Alexander Henry fabric my customer sent to me, and I was quite excited to work with it as I LOOVE Alexander Henry and I love pirates too and this print has skulls with pirate swords crossed under them. This skirt came out perfect. Each tier is exactly 1 and 1/2 times bigger than the tier before it. It just came out perfect and I am really proud of the craftsmanship.

I also made 6 pounds of soap yesterday. I made so many new scents. i been ordering new ones like crazy thinking I may get into a craft show soon so I been stocking up, plus my soap store is doing really good business right now and I am so thankful for that.

I wish I had pictures of the soap but I am waiting for the sun to come out so I can take some. Its raining here in Kentucky today and its cold and crappy outside.

I made a new soa called "Hayride and a Bonfire" It sounded interesting and fun so I bought the fragrance oil and I am so glad I did! I smelled so many different things while I mixed it up. Forst it was orange, then there was clove, then it was a spicy smell. Now that its mixed up and cut into bars I am smelling mostly orange with some spicy notes right behind it. Its a pretty happy fragrance and its my new favorite!

I also made a new one called "Winterberry" It has some minty notes, like spreamint, and some pine but not like pine-sol LOL it has berry notes of course, and its just a really nice crips fragrance and really does remind me of winter time. its a fresh scent, real clean really fresh like the driven snow....

I made a batch of Amber, and some called "buttercream" this one smells like the best vanilla cake you ever smelled, or those Werthers candies...good stuff! I tried out another designer rip off fragrance too, this one is "Goddess" by Baby Phat. I never smelled the perfume yet but this soap smells really damn good. I am thinking I will get more for some body butter...its nice, very nice. its a floral scent so if you like florals try it out!

I should get all these listed over the weekend. if the sun dont come out today I will rig up some kind of lighting so I can get pictures of these, I got real creative with the colors of course. I am really tickled with the Goddess soap. I twisted ropes of purple, pink, and plain white soap all together and I came out with a really cool looing soap.

And yesterday I also did 2 loads of dishes, a load of laundry, picked up Maylees messes about 50 million times, and swept the floor twice, made the best spaghetti in the universe (Tylers words not mine) shipped off a few packages,Packaged and labled 6 pounds of soap, answered a bunch of emails, updated my street teams myspace page, called mom to see if she got her present I sent her,and changed a bunch of diapers.

I am sitting here today wondering how the heck I did all that stuff yesterday...I wonder if I could do even half that today...probably not, its friday and fridays are crazy here. Too much business to take care of on fridays to get any real work done...I would like to make more soap though...i am expecting my shipment of oils to come today..I got some nice ones (I am tempting you now) I got more pumpkin pie spice, more warm vanilla sugar too I got 4 ounce bottles cause these sold out SO quick. I want to make two pounds of each so i have plenty, and I will have enough oil left to make 2 more pounds each or make some body butters...Hmmm..I also got Pink Sugar by bath and bodyworks...been dying to try it out.

Ok Maylee is up so I HAVE to shut up now. If you read this far, I thank you. I have been wanting to blog for a long time but havent had time...I just cant shut up now its all been buiolding up! LOL

Warning about chocolate candies

Please watch this video blog about the very real danger in chocolate candies. I really like this man a lot. He seems to be a real kid at heart, he normally does funny product reviews of kids toys and candies but this post is very serious. Please watch.

Maylees Birthday Party

There she is wondering all over moms house sniffing the air and seeing what we are doing in the kitchen.

Me and mommy are hard at work making the best damn cupcakes you ever ate.

Dont that look good? And thats BEFORE the homemade real butter and sugar icing...yep no stuff out of a can, its all made from scratch.

I wish the pictures hadnt come out so blurry I have very few clear ones unfortunately but just bear with me LOL

We made the best cupcakes ever with green and pink icing. There was a gallon of chocolate ice cream in the freezer that dad had bought about 3 days before he died. Mom said he had picked it up at the store cause he knew we was gonna need it for Maylee's birthday. Dads favorite was vanilla, but he bought chocolate cause he knew thats what I liked...I almost cried when mom told me, but I didnt I did good I held up thru the whole day...I knew I could do it. When mom told me he bought plastic spoons and paper plates I almost lost it again but I hung in there....Dad was always thinking ahead.

I gave Maylee her presents that Tyler had wrapped in such a fashion I had trouble getting thru all the paper to the actual present inside...Tyler sure can wrap a present! LOL I got Maylee a really cool I Spy Bag from The Crafting Corner I also bought one more bag for my friends baby who is turning 1 a week after Maylee. I also got Maylee a cool ninja from Sandy's Dandy's I loved the ninja, so well made!! You can see it in this picture.

I also got in on shopping too late for Maylee so I bought her some "after birthday" presents. I got her A block from a local shop, Spool of Plenty I dont have a picture of the blocks in action yet but trust me, they are big and fluffy and VERY well made, and she even done the one I got for my friend with a custom embroidery! I highly recommend this shop if your looking for baby stuff, and she has more than big fluffy blocks too!

I also bought Maylee a little green baby doll from my sweet friend Patience who did an incredible job

You can see his legs hanging out of Maylees Halloween purse/bag I got a couple weeks ago from GinnyMacks Crafts . I could not get a good picture of her playing with him for nothing! She moves quicker than I do LOL.

My friend Patience makes all kinds of cool stuff and her shop can be found here

This is a picture of the cute lil guy from the listing she had for him. he is adorable in person. Maylee loves him a bunch!

I also got Maylee some shoes...not as a birthday present but because she needs them. I hate buying anything from a store that can be handmade, so I searched Etsy high and low for baby shoes to fit Maylee. I found a couple of pairs I liked and bought.

These came from kaboogie and are VERY well made, and perfect for a baby walking around outside and in stores and whatnot. Maylee wears these everywhere she goes, and I highly recommend this shop for shoes cause they are VERY well made. I have seen similar shoes in stores for babies...you know, the soft soled shoes....I like these better, and they are warm! There is a layer of flannel inside.

I also got these cute lil shoes for Maylee for just around the house so I can hear where she is at. These have bells on the sides and she sounds so cute walking around in these. These came from Bublico and are also very well made. I LOVE these lil shoes, and they come in a bunch of different baby sizes too!

So now Maylee has a bunch of nice toys, and some really awesome shoes to wear now that its cold outside and we NEED to protect her feet.

So that was Maylees birthday...she liked her two toys she got, and she ate a little bit of cupcake all by herself. That was pretty cool to watch, and she didnt get it all over her dad either! You go sweet baby!

She liked the cake a lot but the ice cream was just a bit too cold for her new teeth....

That face is priceless....

Chicago Trip WHAT FUN!

Here is Maylee standing next to a picture OF the sears tower INSIDE the sears tower. Thats one conceited tower!

The elevator to the top goes SO fast your ears pop and stuff. It goes 18 miles an hour! Its really fast and they play this dumb video with annoying cartoon characters to get your mind off the fact that if that cable broke your in a world of hurt cause they got like 20 people crammed in that elevator and its heavy....A little unnerving but nonetheless...

It was super cold in Chicago...not real bad but like in the low 60's and we are used to still sweating our butts off here in Kentucky. So thanks to Monkeylips I had this hat to put on Maylee cause it really is the Windy City up there and she would have got a bad ear ache if it wasnt for this hat, so thank you again! for the beautiful gift to my baby...I still cant thank you enough LOL

This is the view from the top of the Sears Tower. You can see Lake Michigan on the right and a whole buncha buildings to the left...this stretches as far as the eye can see. I live in Louisville, Ky and its a decent size town, but you can fit 40 of Louisville in this place, srsly.

We had the pleasure of staying in this place on Saturday night...this turned out to be one of those fine establishments that rents rooms out by the hour....and has "free movies" Unfortunately my kids found out what kind of movies as Noor gave them the keys to the room and let them go first...of course the coveted TV gets switched on first. I hear them exclaim about "porn" on TV and I immediately disconnect the cable...I was a wee bit mad cause the dude that rented us a room seen we had a van full of kids ya know....oh well. I will just mark this up as one of the "Ghetto" inns that we have stayed at over the years...some day we can get a ritzier place without fist fights upstairs in middle of the night, and men with scantily clad women going to and from the place all hours of the night....geez. It was the first place we could find and yes we were THAT desperate for a place to stay!

The motel may have sucked really bad, but the food...oh the food! When you get out on Devon Ave you can find ANYTHING you want to eat, and its cheap and good! I ate the best Dal curry of my life Sunday morning before we went to the Sears tower. This is a picture of the kids playing inside one of the fine establishments we ate at. My goodness the veggie curry was to die for...these people can cook SOOO good, I wish some of them would move here and open up a store on the corner of my street LOL. I love
Indian food, and there was plenty of it here.

This is the death trap we drove up there...cool huh?

Cops really DO hang out at Dunkin Donuts!!!! Here is proof!

Tyler walking down a street after eating some awesome Indian food!

This is us at the Sears tower...Tyler took the picture, but thats Justin in the orange shirt, and me and Noor (hubby) holding Maylee....dont know who the guy in the stripedy shirt is....

And I gotta represent my heritage while I am hanging out here. I missed Shabbos cause we was driving around breaking the Shabbos looking for a motel LOL I found this cool sign on Saturday too....

Shabbos special...chinese food LOL. I HAD to take a picture of this one LOL.

On our way home Sunday we stopped at this candy factory...they had a chocolate fountain inside, but it was blocked off in such a way I couldnt drink from it or swim in it...damn.

This place was so cool, and got 35 bucks of our hard earned money...THIS is why i am fat guys. Its the chocolate...if peanut butter and chocolate were illegal to eat, then I would be skinny...

I wish I could post more pictures, but I could take up my whole blog talking about this trip! LOL

I wanted to leave you with a lil something if you ever plan on going to Chicago be aware traffic feels just like this big knot all the time LOL. This is where a bunch of highways meet....we drove on this. In the deathtrap. It wasnt fun. Traffic is a nightmare, so be prepared! I love Chicago, but I would never live there. I love going to visit though. I honestly thought with our financial situation i would never get to see it again...and there I was over the weekend! You just really never know whats gonna happen!

Another lil update on my life for you guys that are constant readers...I came home from this trip to find out my father had passed away from a massive heart attack. He died instantly as far as the coroner could tell so thats a blessing he did not suffer one bit. If you could keep us in your prayers I would be most appreciative. I will still be making soap and making my pretty plus size clothes...I am just gonna be taking a break this week, and hoping to resume my normal work schedule this weekend. Thanks so much for the love guys.
