Maylee babbling
I got this video last night of Maylee sneezing and babbling. Its just so darn cute, I had to share...I have to stop blogging today!! Maylee is awake so I have to quit...I have to!! Sorry for the video being so dark...its still cute though!
My lil sweetheart and her first ink pen incident.
Oh my little sweetheart. I was sitting here yesterday printing out some shipping labels...busy, working. I notice its awfully quiet on the floor behind me where Maylee was....I know from previous mommy experience this is a very bad thing.
I was correct! I look behind me and I see this...Maylee got an ink pen and apparently tried to eat it.
Aint she cute?
I had to take pictures, I just HAD to. This is the first time she has got into an ink pen...I think all kids eventually get into ink pens or markers..or god forbid, the PERMANENT markers (gasp) I got this ink pen off pretty easy when I gave her a bath. No big deal, the soap took it right off.
I have a picture from eons ago of Justin and Tyler when they was little and Justin had got a marker and marked ALL over Tylers face. Oh it is hilarious! I need to scan it sometime and get it on here. There is a lot of old pictures I need to scan come to think about it, but who the heck has time! I am up super early just cause I got blog fever LOL I have to find time to blabber about stuff sometime!
I had a few minutes last night and I whipped up Maylee a new pillowcase dress out of this cute fabric I found the other day while shopping for fabric for a custom order...aint that how it goes, you go to the fabric shop for ONE fabric for a customer, and before you know it you have a pile of fabrics!
Its a purple fabric with little candies on it! Its SOOOO cute. I did screw up the armholes...you can see like, her whole chest thru the armholes. I have to fix that. Made me mad GRRRR! I always do a perfect job on armholes in these dresses but this one I cut too big.
You can see the silver ric-rack I used on this one a little better in this picture. I LOVE the silver ric rack!! I thought it would set this dress off perfect! I used yellow bias tape around the armholes and for the ties. I like yellow and purple, and there is a lot of yellow in the print and the ties really bring it out too.
I only wish I hadnt screwed up the armholes!!! Its perfect otherwise!!
Today my main goal is to knock out all my customs I have. I want to get them ALLLLL done while Noor is off today. I also have some pillowcase dresses I have had made for ages I need to get listed on Etsy...so I have to catch my lil supermodel in a good mood today so I can get pictures...work it girl! LOL
OK I think I have fulfilled my burning need to blog...I got up at 6:30 AM so I could blog today LOL I got up to feed Maylee and thought...if I stay up I could blog! I am awful LOL

Tutorial on sewing a casing AROUND elastic...its easy! LOTS of pictures!
This tutorial is about how to EASILY make a casing with the elastic in it. You dont have to make a casing, then thread the elastic thru, oh no! There is a better way! Throw away your thingamajig you use to get that elastic thru the casing, cuss no more!
In the first pic below what I have done is I have laid the elastic across the fabric and sewed the edge down so that the elastic dont come out while I am sewing.
Then you are ready to get busy getting this elastic in your garment!
Here above you can see the elastic across the garment, and below you can see how I fold the fabric before I stitch it down.
Just fold it like you see above with the raw edge on the inside and stitch it down!
Make sure you fold the raw edge over and under the elastic. Also make sure your not sewing ON the elastic...not that I have done that before.... (tries to look innocent)
Once you come to the end of your fabric, you want to push your fabric up the elastic to bunch it up or whatever. You can measure the elastic if you have a preset measurement you need the elastic to be, like here on this pillowcase dress I make the elastic part about 6 inches wide. I just bunch it up till I got fabric bunched up on 6 inches of the elastic, then I sew it down:
Then cut off your elastic:
Then your done!
You can stretch the elastic a few times to get the fabric ruffled on there real good and even.
If your making something like putting elastic in a skirt waistband, you can pin down the end of the elastic rather than sew it down cause you have to sew both ends of the elastic together when your done making the casing.
If you have a situation like in a skirt waistband where you dont have enough fabric to go all the way around the skirt before you bunch it up, you can push the fabric up on the elastic as you sew to give you more elastic to sew a casing around. Make sure the end is pinned down!! You will lose the elastic in the casing and be cussing again in no time! I have done this...its not pretty.
If I have lost you, made you more confused, or god forbid, made you cuss even more over the elastic/casing thing, let me know! I can clarify anything I have screwed up here LOL I took lots of pictures with this one cause pictures help a lot...some people are more visual.
The important thing is you sew and have FUN with it. Little things like this can make your sewing experiance so much more enjoyable rather than frustrating. So get your butt busy and sew something!!!

Treasuries I have known and loved... tee hee hee
Here you can see the very first treasury I was in. The pic is kinda small but still effective! My awesome stitchin sista Olivia created this awesome treasury and was kind enough to put me in it. I love you Olivia!!!!!!!
Here you can see the newest treasury. I am so grateful to the lovely Miss enchantedbeads for putting me in here. There is lots of really pretty jewelry in this one...you know how I like jewelry!
Here is the treasury I MADE all by myself. I waited from 6 AM to about 12:45 to get this one. It was on treasury west And not the main treasury. But I was still thrilled.
If anyone that was in the treasury I made wants a copy of the picture I will send you the .JPG image, just email me at auroras_garden@insightbb.com and I will send it to ya! That treasury kicked butt, and I will be making another one. As long as Maylee is whiney and teething real bad where I have to hold her a lot, I will be tied to this computer LOL By god I will get another treasury!!! (evil laugh)
I am so excited about this treasury thing...you know what would make me pee my pants? If I found a picture of Maylee in a treasury. I really think I would cry, I am so weird LOL I have taken such great pics of her modeling my pillowcase dresses. I have had several printed up too cause they are so good...I would just cry for joy to see my beautiful little sweetheart in a treasury....
I love treasuries!
All hail Etsy!
They LIKE me, they really, really LIKE me!!!!!!!!
I am in ANOTHER treasury!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
