Video Of Maylee crawling and clapping.

If you look closely at the cute baby you will see teeth! Yes she now has 4 teeth! Her two top ones finally match. One was longer than the other for a while hehehehe. It was pretty funny. She looked like a little redneck for a while.

She is getting SO big. She is gonna be walking very soon. Big Bubba Tyler inspires her to walk. He was "showing" her how to walk the other day and she tried it! She keeps cruising the furniture, and after Tyler was showing her how to walk she decided she wanted to do it and she kept trying to let go but she is still too scared. She will raise up on her feet in middle of the floor though, not hanging on to anything she goes from sitting to standing and just grins at us when she does it cause we make a big deal out of it so she is doing it for attention no doubt. I am gonna miss all her funky crawls...the spider crawl with her butt up in the air and feet on the floor...her funny one legged crawl with one knee on the floor and using one foot to propel herself (sigh) but she has to grow up. I cant stop her....dammit.

She is becoming more vocal in a different way too...she says "mama" when she wants someone to hold her. Everyone here is "mama" even Tyler. I tried so hard to get her to say "mama" since she was a newborn...ya gotta start early! Now she just calls everybody mama (sigh). She also says something that sounds like "EEEEEE!" She sounds cute when she says this. She also clapped her hands yesterday for the first time. Me and Tyler have been trying to get her to do this for ages and she finally did it out of nowhere yesterday. I was excited.

This is a video of her clapping her hands. I actually had the camera on her when she did it. I was so surprised! She is also doing her spider crawl and she pulls up to some boxes I have sitting here waiting for my husband to take them outside...probably by the next time I post they will STILL be sitting here waiting to be taken to the garage (sigh) Anyhoo...have fun watching Maylee, I know I am having a ball watching her grow up and so many of you guys are too.

Three tiered skirt plus more new stuff!

So, I get this fabric at the store...its premade patchwork. I have went crazy over this stuff and have some more in my stash just waiting...I found some in ALL PINK! Its just for me though hehehehe. ANyhoo... I got this stuff here to make some pants...but the more I got to looking at it the more I thought it should be a tiered skirt. So here it is in all its spinny goodness. You can also see more of it in my ETSY SHOP!

I decided to do something different with the bloomers. I always thought this style was cute so I tried it and I have to have me a pair of these. Wouldnt these just be precious under a skirt thats about knee length?!

These are made from a white quilters cotton that I dyed myself. Yes, I tried tie dying again and you see the results...obviously I need to go back to the drawing board, but they turned out a lovely shade of purple anyways. I adore this purple. I also "tie Dyed" a couple of my ratty looking white t shirts I wear like a uniform and they are also this shade of purple..its a really nice color. Not too bright, not too dark. Just purple. You can see some streaks of white in these in random places where they were ALMOST tie dyed...but not quite.(sigh) You can see more pictures of these in my ETSY SHOP TOO!

Here is a skirt that for some reason I have had in my inventory box since winter time. The listing for this expired and since the pictures of it did blow all to hell and back I figured I would redo the pictures and try again. This skirt has an applique done by *me* that I have been doing for years. This is my mommy's favorite applique of mine so thats one reason I keep recreating it. Its always a little bit different than the last time.

This is also available in my ETSY SHOP! for only 60 bucks. I am listing it so low because we kinda neeeeeed the money. The price in no way reflects quality, so dont let the somewhat low prices fool ya! I do all french seams in my stuff except where otherwise noted. All other seams are topstitched.

And these adorable bloomers here just made me think PUNK ROCK GIRL! My favorite song by The Dead Milkmen...does anyone out there even KNOW who the Dead Milkmen are?? Does Anyone remember??!! If you was part of the skater scene of the late 80's early 90's then you know who the Dead Milkmen are hehehehe. Anyhoo, I kinda broke away from my usual stuff here by making these, it was fun and I am sure this shocks my usual customers LOL. If these dont sell pretty quick I may just keep em and grab my old Suicidal Tendencies Skateboard and go skate!

These have little skull beads on the sides, and a star button, and a cute white bow. These are really adorable in a goth/punk sort of way. These too are up in my shop!

This skirt was "sold" a while back but the buyer didnt come thru...she decided to open up a garage with her hubby instead. Some people! I swear. Pass up this skirt to have her own business...the nerve! Anyhoo....this is another project made with that cool premade patchwork fabric. This is in purple plaids...I got this thing with purple and plaid lately Hmmmm....Anyhoo, this has a roo pocket, and I embroidered a fairy sitting on a mushroom and a buncha little mushrooms on the pocket...the pocket is made of corduroy and fully lined too.

This is Maylee laughing cause I look stupid in the picture. Aint she a doll.

This will be on Etsy probably tomorrow (sunday 8-03)
I am trying to space out my listings over the whole weekend to keep my stuff fresh in the searches.

Grocery bag out of old t shirt tutorial

I have a FUN project for you guys today!
I remember somebody posted not too long ago wanting a pattern for cloth grocery bags...I couldnt find much that was super easy till now!
Step 1
Clean out your rapidly growing sons closet. find old t shirts with no holes in them.good luck!
Step 2
Lay out t shirt on a flat surface and cut out arms (cut away all the seam part, these are gonna be the openings you use to carry the bag, so make it as big or little as you like)
Cut out the neck. Cut under the rib knit part cutting away all of the seam.
Cut the bottom off so that you have about 5 or 6 inches under the arm hole. You can take this bottom part you cut off and hang on to it for now....
Step 3
Turn t shirt inside out and walk over to your sewing machine. Straight stitch a seam across the bottom once or twice depending on how confident you are. Repeat all steps for as many shirts as you can find.
Step 4
go shopping! Its Saturday have fun with your snazzy new bags! Or if your broke like me then pull out all the bottoms to the t shirts you just mutilated and.....
What the heck do I do with these bottoms????!!??
Many things!
Cut them into rectangle shaped window cleaning towels. Just snip off any seams still on them, and use it for a window cleaning towel, or a dishtowel!
Make reusable wipes for your baby!
Save them up to make a t shirt patchwork skirt!
Hang your husband from the highest tree with one!
Sew all the rectangle shapes together and make your baby a tiered skirt out of them! (make sure they are all the same width of course.)
Make a headband!
Choke your kids with them
Clean your car.
Use some strips from them to make cute ruffles on some knit fabric pants or shorts for your little girl. just sew a long stitch in the center of a 1 or 2 inch strip and pull the bobbin thread when your done and make it squish up and be ruffley and then sew it to the bottom, on the butt of course, of a pair of pants or shorts for your lil sweetheart!
I could go on but my brain is having seizures from all the thinking

My new kimono wrap top

I made my new wrap top! I looked all over and couldnt find a tutorial and I hate patterns with a passion so I just decided to go from a picture of some pattern pieces from a simplicity pattern I found. Hey as long as I have SOMETHING I can create pretty much anything.

As soon as I got up yesterday I got to work....after scoring two treasuries on etsy hehehe I decided to make a muslin for the baby first just to get the hang of it and make sure I got the concept right and stuff. Here is her Muslin. Its literally a muslin LOL. I made it from scraps just to get the hang of this.

She loved being measured for this top too. She just giggled. LOL
I do intend to make her a bunch of these cause they are just too cute. She will look awesome in one of these with her asian features.

So here is my top. I had about 2 yards of this really cool rayon type fabric that I was never gonna use for anything sellable, and I kinda liked it since it was pink and all. So I went to town on it. I made the sleeves like real kimono sleeves too, I thought it would look cool and I was right!

Here is another shot of the sleeves. I just love em. You can see where this ties too. Its a very comfortable top, and I feel pretty fancy wearing it. I AM gonna make more of these and I am gonna make them to sell, so as soon as I can get thru all the customs I have (5 total right now) I am gonna make a bunch of these for my shop

I still look at the pictures here and I cant believe I made THIS top with no pattern basically. I drafted the pattern for this. Yeah there are a few places that need tweaking but this is just my first try at a grown up size top. I cant believe I did that. Do you guys ever feel like that? You look at something you made and you think..Damn, I MADE that with my two hands! Maybe I am too philosophical LOL.

Once I get the details worked out there will be a tutorial on this. Its gonna be for the more advanced person though LOL Your gonna have to draft your pattern like I did mine so get your calulators ready. I will show diagrams of the pattern pieces and what they should look like and stuff. I hope to have it by the end of the week but like I said I got a lot of customs and am getting over the flu...yeah I got sick. Big herbal vitamin C junkie gets the flu. I couldnt kill it off this time. Got Maylee too. Got me worse though. I sound like Darth Vader when I breathe....its kinda cool.
